Awesome story, I do love when the author throws in a kid with my favorite pair in a believable manner. This story does so when Mary Watson dies in childbirth due to injuries from an accident. It's a couple of years before John and Sherlock get together even though they are raising a daughter together. This story follows the trio through Evelyn's 18th year so far and she is just as much of a trouble magnet as her parents. While the story is not complete it stops at a good point, The story is over 200,000 words and the last cliffhanger was painfully satisfying.  The characters are made believable because they age as Evelyn does as seen in having trouble breathing, getting more injuries, recovering slower. Evelyn has to find her feet being raised by two such different and famous men. It's hilarious especially the flashback to when she gets her first period at 3 in the morning. Poor, poor Sherlock I laughed so hard that's what he gets for being a light sleeper. Especially when he is tossing the sheets in the wash and hesitates because of possible experiments then shakes his head and drops the lid. Really Sherlock, bad thought, bad boy. Awesome story well worth rereading

Gibbs/Dinozzo

“Tony gave himself a little time to mourn the loss of this life. He wasn’t sorry. He’d choose Gibbs and Samas any day of the week, and he understood how important the fight against the goa’uld was—both for the onac homeworld and for Earth. However, he would miss Very Special Agent Tony DiNozzo. It was a life that was worthy of a moment of silence as it passed.”

Excellent story Gibbs has a alien in his head that no one knows about. Tony finds out when O'Neill steps into the picture. Then Gibbs get kidnapped by Baul and Tony has no intention of leaving his boss without someone covering his six. Taking a chance he leaps into the rings and is taken with Gibs and everything goes downhill. The story is fast moving with a great insight to Tony's character.  This is the start of a series that will take you to Atlantis  a place where Gibbs and Tony excel. There are 7 stories in the series so far and each story is good. I love the way that Tony’s character develops. When he talks about how Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo is just another undercover mask I wanted to cry. The quote above is from the end of the first story and sums up the story nicely.

Harry/Glorfindel
https://archiveofourown.org/works/1113746#main

It's been a while since I read this story and it is still a great blending of LOTR and HP. Harry goes through the veil with Sirius and they are transformed into elves of a corresponding age. Which would be toddler and tween and a new adventure starts. They end up in Rivendell and the story explores what happens around and behind the movie. I wish the story had gone into more detail about the courtship between Harry and Glorfindel there are too many jumps. However the story is well written the action scenes are thrilling and you get a better look at lives of everyday elves.

Slash Heru (Harry)/Severus, Remus/Sirius

Good story with just enough differences to not be another Harry raises himself. Harry as Heru comes to this world the night the Potters are killed. He immediately collects young Harry and creating his own Wizarding space creates a unique home. I would love a tree mansion like that not to mention the sanctuary he creates. The changes flow freely after that as Heru is determined that those he cared for will have a better life. He intends to finish everything before Harry has to. Slowly he involves more and more people in his crusade to give Harry the life he deserves. It finally comes to head just before Harry goes to Hogwarts. An enjoyable story. The story is fluffy, funny, deception abounds and Heru proves to be an interesting character. Pairings are Severus/Heru and Sirius/Remus

Arthur/Eames, Sherlock/John
Slash

I have of course seen this pairing before but never actually read it. This is excellent because you know Mycroft would use any resources he had and what's a little blackmail between friends. I just recently discovered this author and already want to recommend several stories. In this he calls in Eames to force Arthur to help get Moriarty secrets without involving Sherlock. While my favorite pair is involved the story is all about Eames and Arthur. This is the first in a series of 6 so far and you really don't have to know the movie to follow the plot line. I love how the author portrays the insecurity in both pairings as well as how far each would go to protect the other. As for the dream walking that was seriously scary. I think I found my newest ship. I'll have a whole flotilla at this rate.

Shadowlord and Pirate King by Footloose, mushroomtale

Slash Merlin/Arthur
with amazing artwork at: https://archiveofourown.org/works/958021/chapters/1875898

I loved it,this is an excellent story. A very different take on Merlin while still sticking to the heart of the story. Let me say that this is a different Merlin then you are used to. He is one BAMF, an assassin, most importantly the last shadowlord. When he first meets the pirate king Arthur well let's just say it doesn't go well and actually gets worse before it gets better. There is plenty of snarky comments, diva attitudes and space battles galore. Of course there is a prophecy and the two must unite to save the clans. Arthur is desperately trying to keep his father alive and would make a deal with the devil. There are a lot of awesome scenes but the one that sticks in my mind even now is when Merlin is walking along the table in front of the the others as he approaches Arthur. It’s been almost two years since I read this, it’s cold and dreary outside perfect time to snuggle up with hot chocolate, cookies, and a story that will take you to another world.

Strange Currencies by Metalnoir668
Slash Kurt/Dave
http://archiveofourown.org/works/562745?view_full_work=true

Very good story that is not typical of what I normally read. I do like the pairing of David and Kurt but the main reason for reading the story was the length. I wanted something to keep me occupied for a bad day. The reason for it not being my usual story is also one of the reasons it is so good. The author does a good job of getting into the head of the character and explains the why and how the characters become who they are. Kurt and David become these 3 dimensional characters that are not perfect. They are human beings who make mistakes. Sometimes stupid mistakes. Many of the scenes between Kurt and David showcase just how different they really are from how they perceive themselves to how others do the same. Kurt shows David that running solves nothing whether from the kiss, his anger, his friends, or his life. The scene where he puts his foot down about David's behavior is well done. Coddling someone who is basically throwing a tantrum does nothing and would actually set someone back in the kind of situation that David is recovering from. Kurt wants to be David's rock but he learns quickly that it can be difficult not to mention stressful as you second guess yourself. It doesn't help that David is constantly making him question his own life style choices. The scenes between Kurt and Blaine are funny as well as sad because Kurt is stepping out from his comfortable box and Blaine can't handle it. The story is a very in-depth look at coming out in middle class small town America. There are some deep questions about stereotypes and choices and that sometimes you reach your goal only it's not what you thought it would be. A very thought provoking story my only complaint is that sometimes the author takes three paragraphs to say what three sentences would do.
